CASPER, Wyo. — High gusting winds have prompted the closure of Interstate 25 from Cheyenne to Douglas to light, high-profile vehicles Friday evening, according to the Wyoming Department of Transportation.
Very strong winds are possible entering Saturday morning, the National Weather Service said. Northwest winds of 30–40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph are expected.
I-80 is currently open, but winter weather advisories are in effect for the Snowy Range until Saturday at 6 a.m. Total snow accumulations of 3–6 inches are possible, with winds gusting as high as 50 mph.
